Using it since one and half year and kudos to its performance & quality. I bought this based on great reviews on Amazon, and I did not go wrong. It's been the best iron I have bought so far. The best features I like is , auto shut-off if not in use for some time (safety issue), very simple buttons and a clearn steel surface which maintains its quality after long use.
I have bought many B&D irons but have bought my last. Twice I have spent over $50 for a Black and Decker iron that only lasted 6 months, they used to stand for quality, the service centers no longer support them either.
My mom has been looking to get one too, but she can't find it on sale at the stores. I've had it for 4 years and I use it a lot during the week.
It is an awesome light iron and nothing sticks on the plates. It has auto shut off advantage, and that has come to my rescue many many times.
I've had this iron for 4 years and I iron pretty much everything I wash, including jeans, socks, towels and sheets. I am looking to buy another one so that I have it just in case this one dies off.
It will shut off if you forget the iron on and that saves energy and even your house from burning in some cases. The pointy design makes it easy to iron even narrow places in some shirts.
I'd actually buy 2 if it was available on amazon. It does not even compare to her Rowenta, which makes such a hissing noise.
Turns off automatically when sitting which is important. I have a tendency to accidentally move the steam setting wheel while ironing because it's placed near the grip.
Gets hot fast, lots of steam, easy to handle and easy to set controls. I really like this iron.
Just don't rip it open and it should be ok. I've read complaints about the little cover breaking off where you fill the water.
It's plastic and could have been made better but mine is fine. Nice long cord.
I especially like the fact it can steam in the vertical position so I can blast out wrinkles while on the hanger.
This new iron (2030 also) along with my previous irons (Rowenta, B&D,T-Fall) have the same problem. Bad luck or this is the way irons "tend" to work. not staying hot during the ironing cycle. I've owned this model (2030) for two years. My new present iron stopped working after 9 - 12 months. Product return was somewhat painless but I'm out the $9 dollars return shipping. An appliance repair person once told me that heat and electronics don't mix, but this is the 21st century.
